The CFW-9 makes it possible to automatically take color images with LRGB filters. Add an H-alpha filter for emission nebula, or perform photometric measurements with UBVRI filters. Add an extra carousel and do both by switching entire filter sets. The CFW-9 is available with or without filters. The CFW-9 gets its power and control commands from the camera and is designed to match the ST-7/8/9/10/2000 body style in size and shape.

The CFW9 is an automated five position 1.25" filter wheel. When bolted to the front of an ST-7/8/9/10/2000 camera, the CFW9 and camera form an integrated system capable of automatically taking a sequence of several images through color, photometric or narrowband filters. The CFW9 gets its power and commands directly from the camera so there is no extra power cable, communication cable or additional software needed for fully automatic operation. The same software that controls the camera also controls the filter wheel. It weighs less than one pound (14.7 oz). Please note, however, that since the CFW9 uses I2C port on USB cameras, it is not compatible with earlier model cameras with parallel electronics.
