ST-4 Desiccant Canister

Although the ST-4 autoguider was discontinued several years ago, many people still use them for stand alone autoguiding. Very early models of ST-4 did not have any desiccant in the head, but the design was modified later on to accept a desiccant "ring" similar to the one used in the old ST-5C. The loss or destruction of this desiccant ring has cause a lot of anxiety for avid ST-4 users. Unfortunately we have been unable to find the material that the original rings were made from and the supplier that we used no longer has this kind of desiccant available. To keep those old ST-4s working, we have devised a ring shaped canister that will fit the ST-4 head in place of the old desiccant ring. This should keep the ST-4s going for quite a while. They may be baked and re-used for many years without fear of breaking. These will only fit those ST-4 heads that were designed to hold the old style desiccant ring. We are now taking orders for this part. Price is $75.
